Get Well Wishes

A Get Well Soon card for a friend who is having an operation this week.

I used Memory Box 'Fairytale Flower Border' die which I used twice with snippets of green and pink card.  The green die cut was attached to the base card and I snipped off the large pink flowers and attached them over the top of the green ones.  I added tiny white pearls to the centres of the flowers.  The patterned paper is from a magazine freebie paper stack and the computer generated sentiment is die cut using a Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle' die.

Rudolph

It's the 25th of the month, which can only mean one thing....the start of the June Rudolph Days Challenge.  You have until the end of the month to enter the challenge, so you've got just a few days to enter, to have the chance to win a lovely prize.  This is the last of my DT cards so I thought I'd better include a Rudolph.
The reindeer is a Memory Box 'Leaping Reindeer' die cut, matted on a Spellbinders 'Lacy Square' die cut.  The embossing folder I used is Crafters Companion Nordic Christmas 'Reindeer Forest' and Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflakes' die cuts finished of my card.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the fabulous Christmas creations again this month for the Rudolph Days Challenge.

Zendoodle Flower

Welcome to my new follower, Bel from Inkabelle.  I've known Bel for several years and she introduced me to the lovely Stampin' Up projects.  She has just taken the plunge to start entering card challenges, so I hope you have time to pop over to her blog to see her gorgeous creations and give her some encouragement.  I'm sure she would be delighted if you would become one of her followers.

A flower card today, using a recently purchased flower stamp.

The flower is from a set of Sweet Dixie Zendoodle stamps, stamped using a Memento ink pad and coloured with Promarkers.  To keep the theme of the Zendoodling, I die cut the image using a Sue Wilson 'Noble Double Pierced Rectangle die' and used the piercings to space out the striped border, which was done with a Micron pen. The image is raised up on foam tape.   The embossing folder I used is Creative Expressions 'Dotty Daisies'. I finished off my card by adding tiny Sue Wilson 'String Flower' die cuts in the corners.

Butterfly

The Butterfly Challenge this fortnight is 'Butterflies + O is for Oval and/or Olive'.  Did anyone else in the UK stock up with a box of card every time they went into a Papermill shop and now have more card than they could use in a couple of life times?!   I knew I had to have a sheet or two of olive card in my pile and sure enough there was!

The corners were die cut with an All Occasions 'Trellis Corner' die.  The Indigo Blu butterfly was part of a set which came as a free gift with a magazine.  I stamped the butterfly using a Memento ink pad and coloured the image with Promarkers.  The image was die cut with a SB oval die and matted on a SB 'Elegant Oval' die cut.

Altered Jotter Pad

Happy Father's Day to all those Dads out there.

Welcome to my new follower, Karen of My Cup Runneth Over.  Thank you for joining me.

An altered inexpensive jotter pad today.
The circle and tag are punched from cork using Fiskars power punches, then matted on dark blue card.  I added a little Woodware saw brad and some Card Candi.  Navy blue card and cork were snippets, so I'll be off to play in the Playground.

Canary Card

My DH's uncle is celebrating his 70th birthday this weekend and the only help I got for a theme for the card was that he breeds canaries! Hmmm... it took me a while to think where to start with this one!
I finally decided to use the Stampin' Up bird punch - I'm not sure it looks like a canary, but it IS yellow! I used dark blue card with the Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' die to keep the card fairly masculine.  The numbers are die cut with a freebie set which came with a magazine.

Decorated Wooden Box

Another of my Fiskarettes DT projects, which I can now post on my blog.  This started off as a plain little wooden 'tool' box.  It's about 5" high, perfect for keeping all those bits and bobs in on my craft desk.
I painted the box with green acrylic paint.  The patterned paper is from a DoCrafts paper pad.  The flowers are punched and double layered to make them fuller.  I punched the border at the bottom with a Fiskars Rainbow border punch.  A little wooden ladybird was added as a finishing touch.  All the paper and card I used were snippets, so I'll be off to play in the Playground.

Spotty Butterflies

A CAS card today, one of my Fiskarettes UK DT projects.  My four month stint on the DT came to an end at the end of May, but there are still a couple of my projects which will be posted on the Fiskarettes Facebook page this month.
I used a Fiskars Butterfly lever punch and Rainbow border punch on my card.  The embossing folder used is Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots'.

This photo shows the card open.

If you are on Facebook, pop over to the Fiskarettes UK Facebook page.  There is a current competition to make any craft project using at least two of the following colours: peach/pink, pale blue, yellow and green.  You could win yourself a fab Fiskars tag punch and a pair Fiskars scissors. You can also check out the projects the current DT team are creating.

Pop-up Gift Card Holder

A gift card holder today, another of my Fiskarettes Design Team projects.  This one used up some of my patterned paper snippets.
There are a lot of examples of gift card holders on Pinterest, but I couldn't find one with instructions. So, here are the instructions for how I made mine.

1. Cut a piece of card 11" x 4 1/4".  Score across the card at 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 1/2" and 9".  Fold as shown in the photo.

2. On the back, put strips of double-sided tape along the four 1" wide panels.  Do not stick together at this stage.

3. Turn the card over and put two small strips of double-sided tape as shown in the photo.

4. Corner round the corners.  Stick the panels with the double-sided tape together.  It should now look like this.

5. Cut pieces of patterned paper, slightly smaller than the base card and attach.  The gift card fits in as shown.

6. Add patterned paper to the front and outside of the flap.

7. Make a band to fit all around the closed gift card holder - best done with the gift card inside to make sure it fits.  Add a sentiment.

Post Op!

What glorious weather we had in Devon over the half term week! Hope it was warm and sunny where you were.  We had intermittent wifi connection, so not much chance to comment on blogs this week. :-(

Today's card is a masculine 'Get Well' card needed for my brother, who had an operation on Wednesday.
I decided on a little Woodware stamp, stamped with a Memento ink pad and coloured with Promarkers.  The image is die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle' die.  I used a Marianne 'cArt-Us Lacé' die, which cuts and embosses, to mat and layer the image.   The bottom green panel is cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Country Border' die.  The embossing folder is Darice 'Basket Weave'.
